AWOL @ Ministry

Running well later than I intended, I arrived @ Ministry at 12:15 . I see there was no cue outside, I started to think.........mmmmmm...........That thought was shortly lived!!!

I entered the club, straight into Arena 2 which was packed, bouncing to the sounds of DJ Zinc & MC Lowqui. The energy and atmosphere was electric. Zinc was tearing up the turntables with quiet a mellow vibe selection from which I haven't heard him play before, but never the less the crowd was loving' it. Right, now time to investigate Arena 1. Whistles, horns & lighters were all going off, up in the air. Dr S Gachet & MC GQ was on stage and causing a storm, this over packed arena was going mental!!! Oldskool all the way baby.............. Gachet was licking from one classic to another, the memories from raving years ago was rushing back......Great music, nice and decent people with a wicked vibe and all I can see is smiley, happy faces! It was now 1am , Gachet had entered he's last one and what an evasion this DJ received......BIG!! It was now time for GQ to enter with the one and only Mickey 'Fabulous' Finn. Drawing straight for he's Dub-plate Specials, Finn was off with a BANG!!! 'The bass to dark', 'Bonanza Kid' was just the start of what's to come from this set. Unfortunately it was now time for me to quickly have a look in Arena 3 and then off to Renegade Hardware @ the End. DJ Squire & MC 2 Shy was rinsing out this Arena with a Hard, Heavy floor stumping tunes, the crowd was going off in here as well! 3 Arenas of packed dance-floors with an electric atmosphere A.W.O.L was back with a mite BANG!!!

Watch this space, I here A.W.O.L will be @ Ministry once a month...............

Renegade Hardware @ the End

It was now 2 am as I entered into The End and couldn't help but notice how busy Renegade Hardware was to. DJ Ink & MC 2 Shy was making there entrance to a fired up crowd. Ink & 2 Shy were going in tonight, straight from the start! The selection which was Deep, Dark, and extremely heavy, which was ripping through The End night club. Ink was smashing Dubplate after Dubplate and with 2 Shy hype'in up the crowd with he's vocal talent this was set to be the best set of the night. 'In my opinion...........' This set had everything that you would expect from 2 premier league peeps, in this D&B industry. Now it is 3 am , it was time for DJ Friction & MC SP to step up and Boy...... Friction, what happened mate I thought I was @ One nation instead of Renegade Hardware. Now trust me I ain't discing this DJ, as usual he's mixing, chopping & fader was tight but as for the selection......Boy.....!

MC SP was very much on form, keeping the vibes and entertainment level very high which received a great evasion at the end. It's now 4 am and time for a back 2 back special featuring Chris Inperspective & Equinox backed up with MC 2 Shy. This set was now back on the Hardware scale with both DJ's rinsing out Dark & Heavy amen Dubs which the crowd was going mental over, and a part from 1 or 2 little clangs, this set was BIG!

5 am brings in the sounds of Noisia. This DJ/Producer out of the Netherlands was in with a Bang, getting a massive applause has he intro from the crowd. Hitting with he's choppy, tech steppe style that this DJ brings, Noisia was sending the Hardware crew out in class. The raver's was still moving and the energy was still has high as when I had first walked in. Having to make a move half way though this was very hard to do, but had early start Saturday.......you know!!!

Big shout to all the A.W.O.L & Hardware Management, supporters and followers. Both nights was absolutely Massive, with wicked atmospheres and energy levels threw out the clubs..............But big shout to all the hardcore ravers who are really keeping the Vibe alive!!!!

TECHNOLOGY (REVIEW)

Tonight, tonight the 1st years birthday party for rave orgarnastion 'Technology' @ 3rd base, Brixton. After a little car journey me & guest arrived at the venue @ 1 am, S.L.B had just came off which was a shame as the raves said he had played a great oldskool set, Big up! DJ Manifest had step up, and boy as this DJ is on fire at the moment! Ripping in & out from tune 2 tune, Manifest & MC Killa B had 1 thing on there minds and that was to get the place jumping. Vibez'in the raves with hard dance floor killers at the moment, slipped in with a lot of new darkside material fourth coming. MC Killa B was holding the mic & crowd tight, which was absolutely going mental. Booooooo, Boooooo, Rewind, Rewind . . . . . . . . . the crowd & i was going off! Before we knew it Killa B was introducing Manifest last 1, and what an applause this DJ received. It was now 2 am & time for Chris Inperspective to step up, and never hearing this DJ play out before i was very interested and impressed by what this DJ had to offer to the crowd. Killa B was still holding the crowd with he's vocal talents as (C.I) had picked up from where Manifest had left off from . . . . . . HARD & HEAVY!

The crowd was enjoying this, especially the way he was interacting with them. (C.I) was loving every second, which is a pleasure to see & find is missing from a lot of DJ's these days. Drawing to the end (C.I) mellowed the music, just a little i say for the introduction of, what i call the main attraction. It was now 3 am, DJ's Vicious Circle & MC 2 Shy time to shine. This set was definitely one for the record, (V.C) & 2 Shy had stepped up and trust me they meant business. Tearing for the word go these 2 Renegade Hardware camp DJ's battered from 1 tune to the next hurting the cross fader as they mixed. Hitting the crowd with a couple of old dance floor classics, such as Bad Companys '4 Days' and brand new unreleased remix material which was going down a storm. 2 Shy was doing he's regularly ground breaking performance with the crowd and vocal talent he brings to the M.I.C. By this time the dance floor was a little less busy but the atmosphere and energy @ 3rd base was even higher. These 2 DJ's had the crowd shouting 'Rewind after Rewind' putting a selection together fit for a king. This was a high light to witness, but had quickly reached the 4 am hour . Which was now time for DJ Mechanizm & MC D.V.S to take the stage. Mechanizm who has been very busy working in the studio on future projects was back in the club mixing, chopper & fading better than ever. This DJ was taking the raves in even deeper with a Dark, Twisted, sinister amen set which i know Mechanizm loves to play. MC D.V.S was doing he's thing, rollin' in & out neatly over Mechanizm mixing which was a pleasure to hear. Now reaching the 5 am hour it was time for me to make a move home, shattered! This was a great night and i will be looking forward to the next one, i have got to send a big shout out 2 Oscar & all @ Technology, 2 Shy, Vicious Circle, Mechanizm, Manifest, Verb, D.P, S.L.B, Skins,Chris, Chris Inperspective, Killa B, D.V.S, John (Cambridge) and a massive big up to the RAVERS keeping the vibe alive!!!!!
