Where does the name Brandon Miles come from: First and Middle Name
How long have you been into the scene: about 5 years or so
What inspired you to get into the scene:
The first rave I went to I saw Mickey Finn and AK1200 play, never heard any music like it before.
What was the first tune to make an impression to you:
It was something off of Hardware Probably. Messiah?? Maybe Doorway?? That's tough…….
Who's your favorite dj:
I pretty much like the dj's who produce/play the tunes I like….
Who are your favorite producers:
Noisia, Calyx, Teebee, Pendulum, Desimal, Spor, Phace, Subfocus, Quadrant, Corrupt Souls, hmmm…. And loads loads more
What's your favorite part of your studio:
My monitor's, Flat Response is crucial
What software do you use:
Buzz and Cool Edit.
How did you get involved with Dark Wax:
I AIM'd some tunes over to Mistic, we started chattin' and got along good. Now we trade tunes regularly.
Which producer do you rate most at the moment:
That's really hard, but if I have to choose, Noisia.
Which of your tracks are you most proud of:
It's not my “best” tune, but I'm proud I made something unique in the tune “ Lateralize.” Half timed beats, with a detuned sine sub. Thanks to Moldy for co-writing that with me.
Musical Inspirations:
Nirvana, Radiohead, The Cure, Mozart, Sigur Ros, Depeche Mode, Chopin, Stabbing Westward, and all forms of DnB.
What have you got planned for the future:
A vinyl release for Big-H Recordings, and a tune for the Dark Wax Album. With my partner in Analog Trust, I have an Mp3 release for Flatline Audio, as well as a tune on “The Clandestine LP” for them.
What advice would you give to up and coming artist trying you make it in the scene:
Make Friends with the right people, stay humble, work on your mixdowns, and constantly push new sounds.
